Théâtre Follown
Le Salon Africain
Past dates
9/25/15
9:00 PM
Hamburg-Ivorian-Togolese group FOLLOWN are making their Kampnagel debut with this new performance series. As hosts and salonnières, they transform the Kampnagel club into a philosophical beauty salon: a place for exchanges on African-European topics and debates on topical social issues in an elegant sofa-nightclub atmosphere. Because here it’s all about elegance and content. It’s about presence in this city. Being visible is part of theatre group Follown’s mission. They have devoted themselves to uncovering cultural misunderstandings, which have resulted in some deaths and driven others to madness. ‘Follown’ is a Mandinka word, which translated means, ‘The day of stories’. Follown began in 2009 and now consists of Ibrahima Sanogo, Susanne Amatosero and Mandjou Doumbia, who also invite extra guests into their African salon. The current discussion topics and up to date information on guests will be published here nearer the time.
