Tianzhuo Chen is one of the most exciting representatives of the young Chinese art scene, most recently visiting Kampnagel for the 2018/19 season opening. His new work also becomes a visually stunning theater event that intertwines dance, performance, music, visual art, internet, club and pop culture. Chen is just as much a cross-border commuter between East and West as between the arts. In his work there is therefore always a mutual view of the other culture and its supposed and projected exoticism.
