EXTRA PERFORMANCE! SA 28.08. 18:30
Feminist stand-up comedy and a personal performance about desire in the Internet age.
Ever since a video of her stripperformance, HANKY PANKY, was illegally uploaded online, Ursula Martinez has been receiving unsolicited emails from strangers. Using the texts of these emails, which are full of sexual fantasies and projections, in this feminist stand-up comedy she creates piercing caricatures of the men and contrasts them with very personal anecdotes from her own life. Performed on a simple set composed of a projection screen and two podiums, MY STORIES, YOUR EMAILS cleverly explores identity, sexism, the borders of the private sphere and desire in the Internet age (check program of this year focus ART AND DIGITAL ACTIVISM here). Along the way, the former Forced Entertainment performer and internationally touring cabaret diva, proves that comedy doesn’t have to be dull mass entertainment. And, laughter, it turns out, doesn’t get stuck in your throat if the laughs come at you fast enough.
