Choreographer William Forsythe has shaped the European dance landscape with his radical interrogations of classical ballet and revolutionized the notion of what dance is and can be. In addition to his stage pieces, Forsythe also develops »choreographic objects.« One of these is the work CITY OF ABSTRACTS that now returns to Hamburg in a new, mobile version. As an interactive video installation, CITY OF ABSTRACTS rolls through the city in the evening hours. A large LED wall is mounted on a truck, showing the viewers standing in front of it in an artistically alienated way, challenging them to move and thus turning them into choreographic subjects.
