Workshop Storytelling & Music

The workshop format, developed by Sven Kacirek and Charity Collin, is about the interplay between music and storytelling. To what extent does the music influence or manipulate the story to be told? And to what extent does the content of the story influence the listening experience of the music? The workshop participants will be encouraged to write their own short stories and then perform them with the support of the music played live by Kacirek.

• Collin and Kacirek will perform an approx. 3-minute excerpt from the current piece.
• The workshop participants write their own short story. This can be autobiographical or purely fictional.
• In consultation with Kacirek, these stories are performed by the workshop participants with improvised music and then discussed in a subsequent feedback session and, if necessary, performed again.
