One of the most innovative bands from the Near East is coming to Hamburg: 47SOUL. They promote the idea of Arab music culture for clubs. »Shamstep« is what the quartet, which was founded in 2013 and now lives in London, calls its style: a fusion of traditional street music of the »Sham« region (Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria), electronic beats as well as influences from HipHop, funk and rock. 47SOUL combine century-old melodies with analogue synthesizer sounds, guitar riffs and phrases in Arab and English. Their first single, »Intro to Shamstep", reached an audience of millions on YouTube, and the band has gained a reputation as an inspiration for euphoric mass dancing live. On a European club tour, they will present their first album, »Balfron Promise« (Cooking Vinyl), which was released in February 2018.
