In their performance CONNECTION, Hamburg-based HipHop dancers Anam and Ashley explore interpersonal relationships as a physically tangible process. At its core is not the rigid ideal of connection, but its emergence in the moment: through direct contact, mutual responsiveness, and the subtle interplay between movement and the encounter itself. The two dancers open up perspectives on forms of relationship that unfold beyond fixed patterns—open, fluid, and deeply subjective. They question stereotypical attributions as well as societal expectations, revealing how connection is constantly being renegotiated: through closeness and distance, impulse and resonance.
