Which stages will the theater of tomorrow need? How will rehearsals be held in the future and what spaces will they need? Kampnagel is undergoing fundamental architectural development, and very soon: starting in the 2024/25 season, the stages and studios, the center for choreography K3 | Tanzplan Hamburg, the workshops, storage spaces and the administration building are expected to be renovated in several phases, and new buildings for rehearsal stages and residencies will be built. Plans are currently being drawn up in collaboration with the Pritzker Prize-winning architectural firm Lacaton & Vassal. Even though performances will continue throughout, Hamburg dance and theater professionals will be affected by the renovation. Kampnagel and K3 therefore invite the Hamburg scene to inform about the current state of planning and at the same time to enter into a conversation about the future.

The first meeting was the start of a continuous process to involve Hamburg dance and theater professionals in the redevelopment process. After the first meeting focused on stages, rehearsal spaces and the foyer, this time the focus will be on residence buildings and other work spaces/studios.
