ACCESSIBLE FUTURES is a five-day conference dedicated to blind dramaturgy and aesthetics of access. At its core lies the question of how artistic practices and production processes can be reimagined when accessibility is understood not as an add-on, but as an integral part of artistic creation. The project is based on the premise that accessibility for blind and visually impaired audiences extends far beyond conventional audio description. It addresses questions of autonomy, authenticity, participation, and the development of audio description as an artistic practice in its own right. Invited artists contribute workshops, lectures, prompts for discussion, feedback, and short presentations exploring topics such as the body, sound, tactility, multisensorial orientation, public relations, cultural policy, professional structures, and empowerment. Together, they investigate how more inclusive and equitable futures for the performing arts can be imagined and realized.
