How do fake news emerge? How do disinformation and manipulated narratives spread? And what impact do they have on democratic societies?
Under the title “Sur les barricades”, the panel asks how democratic processes need to be rethought. Taking France as a starting point and looking at recent developments in Berlin, representatives of various institutions discuss how resistance in defence of free speech and democracy can be strengthened, and which strategies can counter targeted disinformation. Together, they explore how social resilience can emerge in times of growing polarisation.
