Benson A’Kuyie

The performance GN-z33/6° combines Afrofuturistic imagination with a physical exploration of anger, identity and healing. Drawing on the numerological signifi cance of 33 – a »master numberl« associated with nourishing and transformative energy – BENSON A’KUYIE explores how Black and queer bodies are frequently perceived as “different” through the lens of the white gaze. The performance transforms feelings of isolation, alienation and anger into a ritualised movement space where krump, voice and memory collide. [GN-z33/6°] creates a space in which marginalised experiences become visible, allowing new visions of the future to emerge.
