Blumfeld
Love Riots Revue 2018
Past dates
8/26/18
8:00 PM
One of the most influential bands of its generation reunites and plays the International Summer Festival closing.
With albums like »Ich-Maschine«, »L’etat et moi« and »Testament der Angst«, Blumfeld set new standards for the use of the German language, writing pop history in the process. The lyrics by bandleader Jochen Distelmeyer combine observations of daily life with (left-wing) social critique, and have a poetic power that, according to many fans and critics, remains unparalleled. Their dissolution in 2007 left a correspondingly large vacuum. After a ten-year break during which Jochen Distelmeyer dedicated himself to solo projects, the band’s original members reunited to play a LOVE RIOTS REVUE, presenting songs from their 20-year career and blending declarations of love and war. Rumors about the band working on new material have also come closer to being realized. Until it’s ready, the Hamburg band will provide the hometown performance many having been yearning for at the closing of the International Summer Festival.
