Deborah Hay is considered one of the world’s most radical and influential choreographers, and has repeatedly expanded our understanding of dance. Together with Sweden’s Cullberg Ballet, she presents FIGURE AT SEA, a choreography that vibrates with technical precision and minimalistic expression. The hyper-sensitive dancers develop movements to the electronic, meditative sounds of musician and composer Laurie Anderson, another pioneer in her field, based on a set of instructions by Hay.
