Diana Niepce is a choreographer and dancer from Portugal who is presenting her work at Kampnagel for the first time in FOKUS TANZ. In O OUTRO LADO DA DANÇA, she examines hierarchies that structure the body. What traces and images has the history of dance left in our mental archives? What movements, what bodies do we expect from dance, and how have excluded bodies moved through dance history? Moving past canonised ideals of mobility, Diana Niepce ventures into an experiment with her own body, its mass, its moving and being moved. A body that represents the invisible in dance history and now claims its place.
