20-year-old Andriy Suleyman was born in Al-Hasakah Syria to a Kurdish father and a Ukrainian mother. In 2012, when Andriy was in 9th grade, his family fled the civil war in Syria to Lysychansk, his mother's home in eastern Ukraine. But shortly after starting their new life, the war catches up with the family again when a new conflict suddenly erupts in Ukraine. Confronted with the reality of the ongoing suffering, Andriy decides to volunteer with the Red Cross.
THIS RAIN WILL NEVER STOP by Alina Gorlova takes the viewer on a visually powerful journey through the endless cycle of war and peace in humanity. The film follows Andriy as he attempts to secure a sustainable future while paying the human toll of armed conflict. From the Syrian civil war to the unrest in Ukraine, Andriy's existence is defined by the seemingly eternal flow of life and death.
