Transtraditional music for the world’s stages: With »derya's songbook« Derya Yıldırım and Ensemble Resonanz present the groundbreaking result of their ongoing collaboration.

For 4 years Ensemble Resonanz has been working together with the singer and bağlama player Derya Yıldırım. She grew up in Hamburg’s Veddel district, learned to play the piano, guitar, oud, bağlama and saxophone, sang in the choir. In 2014 she founded the European ensemble Grup Şimşek. They combined Middle Eastern quarter tone music with European harmonies and were soon designated as an important update of advanced Turkish pop music of the 70s. With the Ensemble Resonanz, Yıldırım additionally strengthen her relationship with concerts in the Elbphilharmonie, the resonanzraum and the Veddel, among others; now the complete result of this synergetic union can be heard for the first time in two concerts on one evening with reduced audience capacity at Kampnagel: »derya's songbook« is a 70-minute song cycle with arrangements of Turkish, Anatolian, Kurdish and Greek songs as well as commissioned compositions - created with the support of the Körber Foundation within the framework of the Körber Resonance Laboratory.
