The HAMBURGER ARCHITEKTUR SOMMER is one of the largest architectural festivals in Europe. First held in 1994, the 11th edition, running from May to July, features almost 300 events across the city – ranging from local initiatives and activities in the neighbourhoods to exhibitions and international conferences. Kampnagel is also participating with several formats. At the festive opening of this year’s HAMBURGER ARCHITEKTUR SOMMER at Kampnagel, Karin Pein, Hamburg’s Senator for Urban Development and Housing, and Christoph Winkler, Chair of the Initiative Hamburger Architektur Sommer e.V., will speak. The keynote address will be delivered by architecture and art critic Niklas Maak, one of the most important voices in German-speaking architectural discourse.
