How do we create cohesion in the crisis? This is the topic of the third EuropaCamp organized by the ZEIT-Stiftung Ebelin und Gerd Bucerius. Due to the Corona pandemic, the EuropaCamp will happen online: Workshops, lectures, debates and culture are on the digital program from April 23. »10 Years of the Arab Spring and Europe« is the thematic focus.
Under the motto »Act together!«, the EuropaCamp will be open to discussion and debate. Because one thing is clear: Despite many different perspectives, opinions and voices, we in Europe are also united in many ways. And only together are we really strong. Let's try to find answers to the current and future crises!

The Legacy Of The Arab Spring - Between Awakening And Chaos

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the protests and revolutions in the MENA-region, the ZEIT-Stiftung, ZDF/Arte and Vincent Productions are organizing a symposium to address the legacy of the Arab Spring. 3:45-4:30 p.m. in German language The first panel discussion is focusing on geopolitical realities and the international consequences of the Arab Spring: • Wolfgang Ischinger, Chairman of the Munich Security Conference • Gilles Kepel, professor at the Institut d’études politiques de Paris and Chair for the Middle East and the Mediterranean at Paris Sciences et Lettres (PSL) • Volker Perthes, UN special envoy for Sudan and head of the UN mission UNITAMS (United Nations Integrated Transition Assistance Mission in Sudan) • Rahel Schomaker, Professor of Economics and Public Administration at the FH Villach4:45-5:30 p.m. CET in English language The second panel discussion primarily centers on the role of civil society in making revolutions work: • Daniel Gerlach, Editor-in-Chief Zenith • Kim Ghattas, journalist and author • Joumana Haddad, writer, feminist, presenter • Emel Mathlouthi, Tunisian singer and voice of the Yasmin revolution
