FAKA / Ziúr

The second evening of the club program presented by Peaches is a danceable club utopia by and with FAKA, Ziúr and DJ Waxs. FAKA is the pseudonym for the artists Desire Marea and Fela Gucci, who reflect on their experiences as black queers in post-Apartheid South Africa through a matrix of performance art, video, fashion, music and literature. Their music, which has been released by NON Collective, among others, energetically brings together ghetto-house and gqom, and is an invitation to venture beyond one’s regular musical habits. The same is true of Ziúr, who has emerged from Berlin’s queer music scene to become one of the most exciting producers of experimental dance music and, as a co-founder of the BOO-HOO party series, is helping expand the diversity and raise the quality on the dance floors. Ziúr has remixed Peaches and released her own debut album, »U Feel Anything?« on Planet Mu. This record is a creative rebellion against the dictatorships of the kick drum, that reconciles the harshness of punk with the warmth of pop. Afterwards, DJ Waxs, founder of Kampnagel’s new club-series Afropride, will bring down the walls.
