18:30 – 20:00 / 20:30 – 22:00 COINTREAU ON ICE The queer performance collective Cointreau On Ice presents its first full-length reality TV show REUNION BAY – a hybrid of video art and live performance. Combining docufiction and drama, a fair amount of cocktails and just the right amount of self-irony, the various drag characters come together for the first time since the beginning of the C-word after a long period of isolation and separate paths. Sita Messer, Perra Inmunda, Meo, Gregorgeous and Jiggles have spent the lockdown in various stages of neglect in different parts of the world. Their online solo careers bumble along. Then comes the request: Cointreau On Ice should give a concert again! They are invited to Reunion Bay. Already on the plane they are all drunk, long suppressed feelings come up again and in the rented mansion the whole situation escalates. Will they manage to perform together in the end? Will Cointreau On Ice make a big comeback? Or will they fail because of themselves? Personal conflicts and existential crises are inevitable. As well as a flamboyant, Cointreau On Ice typical mix of rap and contemporary gay-pop, lipsync and cat-walk, theater and concert.

18:30 – 22:00 FORMATION**NOW FORMATION**NOW already provided energetic summer nights with cheering audiences at the last summer festival. With a clear focus on the perspectives of BIPOC and other marginalized voices, the network founded by Lukulule e.V. brings together young artists of different disciplines with events critical of discrimination and now plays the festival Avant-Garten on two evenings: The BLOCK PARTY on the Kanal stage gives an overview of the diverse network with talk, dance and music and invites young creatives to get involved themselves, develop joint ideas and discover the emancipatory potential of togetherness (details on the line up coming soon). MUSIC NIGHT OUT! feat. Poetry by Mosaiq at Waldbühne presents newcomers in the fields of music and (political) spoken word. On August 5, FORMATION**NOW will also take over the Kultursommer stage in front of the city hall in a cooperation with the summer festival.

From 18:30 SOLICASINO No Summer Festival would be complete without this classic form of entertainment-solidarity. Where else can the joyful (games, fun, diversion) be combined with the helpful (charity)? If luck holds out, there will also be an un-loseable raffle, along with countless other aces up countless other sleeves. It will be as worthwhile as ever and don’t forget: When you lose, others win! Strong drinks, liqueur and soft music will also be on offer – we promise!

FESTIVAL AVANT-GARTEN INFO

Like last year, Hamburg's pearl of pleasure parks will be designed by JASCHA&FRANZ - conceptually accompanied by the long-time festival associated performance group JAJAJA and extended by a Waldbühne by Urs Amadeus Ulbrich and Gras & Steine. With references to fun fairs and theme parks and with a concept for accessibility, the Festival Avant-Garden offers various areas with installations, performances, culinary delights from the Peacetanbul Restaurant and a daily changing program on several open-air stages and the Migrantpolitan building (details in the program overview).

Capacity is limited due to the pandemic and access is only possible with a personalized ticket (3€, available in advance and at the box office). With a ticket for another festival performance on the same evening you can enter the garden for free - as long as there is enough capacity, otherwise there might be bridgeable waiting times. Seated areas in front of the various garden stages will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Details about hygiene rules on site will be published here in due time.
