Gifty Lartey

Lemme talk / Ha ni Ma wie / Ma min kasa

In her first solo production, dancer Gifty Lartey invites the audience on an unfinished biographical journey to the roots of her family and her Afro-diasporic identity. The focus is on her exploration of the dance styles she practices, which, as she later discovered, belong to Black Dance Culture. LEMME TALK is unapologetic blackness, Afro-German realities and healing artistic freedom. “No country, no home, no father. But a broken tongue speaking in tongue and an unfolding black identity, grief and generational trauma, which in the end make me dance.” (Gifty Lartey)
