Gisbert zu Knyphausen & Kai Schumacher

Few German singing singer/songwriters have reached a level of cool seriousness as Gisbert zu Knyphausen with his minor-key-soaked songs on the dark sides of life. Together with pianist and composer Kai Schumacher, he now takes on Franz Schubert, the great »singer/songwriter« of the 19th century. Performing live with eight musicians, the two place songs by Knyphausen arranged in chamber music style alongside songs from Schubert's »Winterreise« and »Schwanengesang,« which were also released in September as a highly acclaimed album. The result is as refreshing as it is stirring.
