Past dates

The music theatre DIE INSEL (engl.: THE ISLAND) is inspired by the opera "Rinaldo and Alcina" by the composer Maria Theresia von Paradis. As a blind musician, she caused a sensation 300 years ago – today the music from her opera is lost. Based on the preserved libretto, an ensemble of blind, hearing, sighted and deaf artists will create a multi-sensory new composition of the opera. On the Island of Joy, an emotional testing ground for encounters and touch, four characters and their different modes of perception come together. The three-year artistic research project [in]operabilities links the art form of opera with the question of its accessibility.
