Alhousseini Anivolla

Alhousseini Anivolla is the lead guitarist and singer of the desert blues band Etran Finatawa from Niger. His playing is marked by subtle variations in attack, slight distortion, and bluesy phrasing over long, trance-like riffs. Since 2014, he has also performed with his band Anewal, which combines traditional North African song structures with hypnotic chords, trance-like beats, blues-inflected guitar, and his warm voice.
