Jan Nikolai Nelles works on disempowering hegemonial representation mechanisms in artistic practice and activism between multi-media and visual art. For KRASS, he developed a performance about Europeans’ colonial raids and the difficulty of returning what one has never owned. The point of departure for TENDAGURU MUSEUM is the period of the Maji-Maji uprising, the most bloody slaughter by German troops from 1905-1907 in today’s Tanzania.
