As part of the rehearsal process to Glas, the second part of her trilogy on the relationship between dance and the audience, Hamburg-based choreographer Jenny Beyer is hosting a collaborative laboratory. The choreographers Nora Elberfeld, Lea Moro, Giorgia Nardin, Ursina Tossi, Roger Sala Reyner and Antje Velsinger as well as the musician Jetzmann and the dramaturg Igor Dobričić will concentrate for an entire week on the act of seeing. The wide range of their different aesthetics and methodologies will form the starting point for an examination of the effects and perception of dance. Spectators are invited to contribute their perspective ON dance to the week in three open studios. Movement induced associations and mental images will be collected and viewing habits questioned: what do I see when watching dance? How do I handle and understand what I have seen? How can the external perspectives of the spectators be integrated into a piece?

Seeing Dance - A Collaboratory is a project of Jenny Beyer in cooperation with K3 | Tanzplan Hamburg and is part of the production Glas.
