To launch the 2016/2017 season, 20 Hamburg residents will conquer Kampnagel’s biggest stage, and we promise that 90 minutes later, they will also have conquered the hearts of the audience. In each city, French Choreographer Jérôme Bel assembles a new group of people with deeply different backgrounds for his latest work GALA. He brings people on stage who are otherwise rarely represented. His GALA is not about demonstrating technical virtuosity and perfection, but about democratic access to the medium of dance – for the performers on-stage with their unique talents, and for the Hamburg audience.
