The Hamburg artist Jesseline Preach is successful in the music business under various alter egos: As Preach and Fathoeburger she convinces with deep beats and rough lyrics. Now she enters new artistic terrain with the performative installation FRUIT OF JOY and creates her own cosmos in which the alter egos resonate with each other. FRUIT OF JOY celebrates joy as a resistant act – Black Joy is too often denied to Black people in German society. Joy is understood here as a counter-design to everyday discrimination and the stage becomes a safe space, a utopian place of negotiation.
