What ghosts hide in empty showcases? REPARATION NATION by Jessica Nupen, Hamburg choreographer with South African roots, is a dance theater production that deals with the empty spaces of looted cultural assets on the African continent. In an interactive installation of dance, opera, visual art, live soundscapes and polyrhythmic beats, a new space is created in the performance space in which existing rules of ownership, hierarchies, value and attribution are redefined. REPARATION NATION is a production by and with artists and dancers from Senegal, Namibia, Kenya, Cameroon, South Africa, Ghana, Sri Lanka and Hamburg.

Sponsored by the Alliance of International Production Houses with funds from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, and the Zeit Stiftung Bucerius.
