Kommando Himmelfahrt get lost among the actors in GHOST TRAIN. Previously known for their large scale, extravagant musical theatre productions, the Hamburg collective is now building a walk-in installation for the very first time. Thrills and adrenaline rushes await the audience in this enchanted house, between the undead of history and the ghosts of the future. They will be supported by Venezuelan singer Aerea Negrot (Hercules & Love Affair), Albrecht Hirche and the Resonanz Ensemble. For their new spectacle, Kommando Himmelfahrt make their way into the heyday of the enlightenment and conjure up the ghost of the disreputable yet visionary doctor and philosopher Julien Offray de la Mettrie (1709-1751). From the very beginning, this radical French womaniser and figure of the Enlightenment lit the fuse of human self-aggrandisement. With his scandalous books, ‘L’homme machine’ and ‘L’homme plante’ he was already touching on posthumanism, while Darwin’s grandfather was still in nappies.
