WANASET YODIT, which means Coffee Chat with Yodit, is an invitation to the audience to drink coffee with the two protagonists, Abir Omer and Yodit Akbalat, and talk about their lives. The two women from Soltau fled from Sudan to northern Germany several years ago. In 2019, together with four other women from the group »My Body Belongs to Me«, they brought a documentary project of the same name about genital mutilation and being a woman* to the stage, with dance and song. In the process, they met Egyptian director Laila Soliman and developed the idea for WANASET YODIT. Soliman was so impressed by Yodit's personal story, her way of thinking, her humor and last but not least her ability to read the future from shells, that she wanted to give the audience the opportunity to get to know this special person, in a very private setting.

What was planned as a coffee ceremony with an audience now takes place in your home: The two friends Yodit and Abir share their everyday stories, their laughter and their tears with you on the phone. Over coffee, of course, but you will have to prepare it yourself. Everything you need is sent to you in advance in a small package.
