Les Sœurs Doga are twin sisters Haoua and Azera Doga from Burkina Faso. Since the 2000s, they have gained fame far beyond their homeland for their powerful fusion of traditional singing in their native tongue, Mooré, and rapid-fire rap sections. They tackle urgent and serious topics such as famine and terrorism, wrapping them in infectious call-and-response anthems that, in a live setting, transform into an uplifting and electrifying flow of energy. Completing the line-up by providing a beat-driven foundation is the sisters’ Hamburg-based friend, Viktor Marek. He is known for his work with The Kings of Dubrock, his duo with sitar virtuoso Ashraf Sharif Khan, and his performances with the theater collective Hajusom, where he has been shaping cosmopolitan rhythms for years. Often seen at Kampnagel, Marek first took the stage with Les Sœurs Doga in 2023 for a Hajusom production. Now, the trio returns, bringing along their first releases on the outernational label Fun In The Church.
