Liima (Tatu Rönkkö & Efterklang)
Since hitting the scene in 2003, Danish band Efterklang have been trailblazers of the pop avant garde world, combining electronic fieldwork with experimental pop and neo-classical ensemble music. Mads Brauer, Casper Clausen and Rasmus Stolberg from Efterklang are always concerned with the further development of sounds and styles and after the band spent one and half years performing live alongside Finnish percussionist Tatu Rönkkö, they started Project Liima. With Rönkkö on board, one musician expands the Efterklang cosmos. Following collaborations with Finnish experimental musicians such as Elifantree and Jimi Tenor, he has become one of Helsinki’s most outstanding percussionists. As ‘Liima’, Rönkkö and Efterklang are now creating rhythm-based trips through sound worlds, which overcome the differences between concert hall and dance floor and which – through the characteristic reverb song and more – represent further exhilarating development of the metamorphic band Efterklang.
