TSAOǁAE - Echoes from Namibia

Germany’s new “place in the sun” is painted green, yet it casts long shadows over Namibia. What Europe frames as ecological salvation appears locally as neo-colonial extraction: solar power secures German industry while local communities – often on historically burdened land – bear the costs. Activists criticize projects like the Hyphen Project planned on sites such as Shark Island, linked to the genocide of the Nama and Herero. Namibian artist Nesindano Namise (Khoes) curates with TSAOǁAE, a multi-layered sound, video, and performance installation that acts as an artistic echo, asking what we will become if we continue to burn.
