Legend has it that skateboarding was born when low waves forced surfers in Los Angeles out of the water and onto the asphalt. Since then, skating has evolved into a unique choreography. It interacts with the surfaces of the city, reclaiming public space with high speed and daring tricks. In April, this art of movement takes over our main stage: Together with a group of skaters and dancers, choreographer Mette Ingvartsen transforms the K6 into a skatepark. She expands the traditional dance vocabulary with kickflips, 180s, and boardslides – a vivid reminder of her youth, when she was a skater herself.

This high-energy performance playfully pushes the boundaries of what’s possible and gives rise to a utopian community where skateboarding and dance merge into one shared, striking, and fast-paced choreography.

A skateboard lies with its wheels facing upwards, a person bends down with their own skateboard. Another board can be seen in the background and one is held into the picture from above. A person stands in roller skates and knee pads.

A person in costume fingers their storm-mask-like headdress, which is decorated with sequins and from which a thick pipe cleaner and a beard made of threads hang down. They wear a ruffled scarf.
