Art School: Picnics of Unlearning

Info

Exact dates and locations will be announced here.

Past dates

Key concepts of contemporary arts (such as cancel culture, identity politics, sustainability and cultural appropriation) are presented in five lessons in public space by international artists. The respective artistic actions critically address power relations, overwrite the Western art canon or produce anti-racist counter-narratives - because racist power structures are established both in the arts and in public space. So it is time to rethink art history and art in public space critically of racism, to negotiate it publicly and to retell it.
Each lesson consists of an art action and an accompanying PICKNICKS OF LEARNING. The concept of unlearning draws attention to the complexity of learning processes, but also the entanglement of learning and education with power and domination. Temporary communities and new alliances are formed at these picnics. Last but not least, the series of PICKNICKS OF LEARNING is also a reconquest of public space - not as a consumption zone, but as a possibility for exchange and mutual inspiration.
By and with the Migrantpolitan Art School Team. Guest artists: Tianzhuo Chen, Annick Choco, God's Entertainment, Orgy Punk and Daniel Lie. The mobile equipment comes from Hools of Fashion.
