Grey skies, but a clear blue whirlpool – this is where Hamburg-based artists Mohadesh Salehinasab and Mona Farivar meet. The first and second generation of German-Iranian artists invite visitors to reflect together on similar yet different burdens and injustices that both face on a daily basis.
Wearing winter jackets, bathrobes, or swimsuits, guests are challenged to relax between false attributions by others and unmasked realities.
The Migrantpolitan is a space in which diasporic and local artists engage in a process of exchange, develop transcultural strategies together and try out new aesthetic practices. This microcosm is a laboratory for collaborative solidarity in which new ideas emerge, cultural self-determination has its place and a pinch of anarchy is an integral part. Many of the activities are open to the public – and you are invited to join the Migrantpolitan community. Because as we all know: Integration is a bring-in, not a take-away!
