Jokes can be very effective when it comes to shaking up views and perspectives. Artist and comedienne Mila Panić believes it is important to explore the role of humour and the joke as a weapon, especially in the contemporary art context, to create liberating moments, to laugh and also to deal with important issues such as selective empathy, politics, war, displacement or everyday situations. In the show COMEDY RIOT IN SECOND HAND ENGLISH, Panić presents over 15 underground stand-up comedians from around the world in a spectrum of irritation, rage and madness: raw, political, sharp and unapologetic – a firework of perspectives against one-dimensional thinking.
