Mithkal Alzghaïr studied classical and modern dance in Damascus before continuing his education with a master's degree in choreography in Montpellier. Because he was unable to return to his war-torn homeland of Syria, he lives to this day as a political refugee in Paris. After his international breakthrough as a choreographer with DISPLACEMENT (2016), a trio about the physical consequences of flight and uprooting, he continued his intense exploration of border politics, racism, repression, displacement, and »the human within machine systems.« In Clamors, Alzghaïr focuses on the moment of transition in which people in exile often have to remain permanently. In this new solo Alzghaïr draws the portrait of man in his dependencies on dominant forces and legislations that govern, control and determine his destiny.
