The Pap family is a roaming tribe that occupies grey town squares, black stages and empty back gardens on its raids. The ‘orbanisation’ has begun: new borders everywhere, fear as a political strategy, totalitarian control of public space, segregation. Gangs of arsonists rage as they claim their territory and want to shield themselves against unwanted intruders. At the festival, the Pap family settle into their yurt of election cards and invite us to make useful and useless things from the cardboard homes of the last elections, following the motto: ‘The election poster doesn’t need a person but the cardboard is super.’ Do it yourself – from the AfD subjects through to Martin-Schulz-Schwert, everything is there. During the handwork you are plunged into the Pap family cosmos, which searches for new and old identities on the other side of the nation. What can we learn from the Huns, who set the limes of the Roman Empire quaking with their surges? How can we conquer the state or the static with nomadic principles? But above all: What will our guests teach us? The election poster yurt becomes a radio studio in collaboration with the Refugee Radio, it becomes a discussion room, a meeting place, a factory and playground. Strange objects and conspiracies emerge. Which secret society is forming here? What struggle are they gathering arms for? What border fences does the orbanisation team have in view?
