In TIKKÉ TIKKÉ, dancer and choreographer Mona Farivar peels away the individual layers of her identity piece by piece. The performance explores the transgenerational burden of a shared yet solitary Iranian family in Germany, a weight carried on the daughter’s shoulders. Through the creation and struggle for an autonomous platform, by confronting her own history and emotions through dance, Mona Farivar authentically shapes her own safer space—where she encounters a very special person. She combines hip-hop with elements of traditional Persian dance in a freestyle form, crafting a unique language that reflects painful experiences while transforming the resulting voids into powerful fusions of strength.
