Dialogues on the Social Dimensions of Dance

Following an opening talk by Katarzyna Wielga-Skolimowska, Artistic Director of the German Federal Cultural Foundation, and Dr. Carsten Brosda, Hamburg’s Senator for Culture and Media, cultural officials from the federal, state, and local levels will engage in a discussion with experts from the dance community. Three moderated dialogues will explore the social impact of dance and provide insights into working practices: from engaging young people to visibility and structure in rural areas, to the role of ballet companies in urban society.
A concluding panel discussion with all panelists will address aspects from the previous dialogues and look toward future prospects for dance.
