The last event of the book fair invites you to relax: The two Hamburg authors Simon. Goldschmidt-Lechner and Brian Frank will each be bringing their latest books with them – NERD GIRL MAGIC and SPASSPARK – and talking about nerd culture from a marginalised perspective: What resistant potential lies in genres such as fantasy, sci-fi or horror, and how do marginalised aesthetics shape these genres? How does the mainstream relate to self-publishing, and how does the dominance of cis-male, white authors, especially in these genres, relate to the history and present of trans and queer, disabled and BIPoC nerd culture?
