The Californian Challenge Public symposium

California has had a greater influence on the digitalisation of our time than any other area in the world. The digital revolution has challenged our society, just as the Industrial Revolution did all those years ago. But in what senses, by which motives and through what legitimisation does this transformation take place today? What progress does the Californian digital culture promise us? What values does this culture stand for – and what do we stand for in Europe? For two days, researchers, bloggers, network politicians and creatives will occupy themselves with the challenges of the digital age. The symposium is the start of the Bucerius Lab, run by the ZEIT Foundation Ebelin and Gerd Bucerius, which will look more critically at the opportunities, challenges and design possibilities of the digital change in the coming years. With this symposium, Kampnagel and the ZEIT foundation engage with the topics of the vernetzt#-Future Camp of 2012 -2014.

Das Symposium ist eine Veranstaltung der ZEIT-Stiftung Ebelin und Gerd Bucerius in Kooperation mit Kampnagel. Funded by Imagine2020 – Art and Climate Change. With the support of the Creative Europe programme of the European Union
