Three master magicians investigate the nature of deception and reflect their own role in times of Fake News.

Can you catch a pistol bullet with your teeth? What does the invisible look like? What is more beautiful - deception or disappointment? In ILLUSIONEN the three master magicians Patrick Folkerts, Jan Logemann and Manuel Muerte - the latter awarded with the important Siegfried and Roy Award and known through numerous soiree formats at Kampnagel - re-enact historical tricks from the glorious history of magic and reflect at the same time on the reality and perception of the present. ILLUSIONEN is as much a magic show as it is a show about magic. Magic often expresses the technical progress, politics and mental attitude of its time. Before magic was degraded to mere entertainment, it had a long mediating role between enlightenment and mysticism, science and magic. In times of fake news politics, it is once again given the role of trickily sharpening our view of the truth and re-examining our limits of perception.
