Perel is a queer, disabled interdisciplinary artist who lives between New York and Berlin. Playing the role of an American late night show host, the artist delivers a comedic monologue. As the only Jewish child in a small American town, Perel got used to educating, the height of which was being asked to teach The Holocaust to their history class. But what existed of that historic narrative was missing of another, that of disability. The title of this show, based on the official medical term, »Life Unworthy of Life«, was used by the Nazi regime to justify the killing of disabled people under the Aktion T4 Program. To talk further about this missing history, Perel invites disabled, queer writer, Kenny Fries, to the stage for a live interview about his personal T4 research.

The general hygiene concept (in German) for visitors can be found here.

Accessibilty

Relaxed Performances try to create a space that best meets the needs of everyone present as opposed to imposing a conventional set of »theatre rules« on the audience. Anyone benefitting from a more relaxed atmosphere might feel more comfortable here! Movement and sounds in the audience are explicitly allowed and the shows do without intense sensory input such as strobe lights or unexpected loud noises. Alternative seating options (bean bags) are provided in the first row. Visitors can leave the room and return at any moment if they wish to take a break.Hearing support with an induction loop on all seats

@home: live stream on Fri, 9.10. via the Youtube link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLfFbFuUGnE Free of charge and without registration.

Trigger Warning In our description texts, we often do not give any detailed information about what is happening on stage. We do this because many visitors like to be surprised. At the same time, we know that certain topics, images, sounds and effects can be difficult for many people, especially if they come unannounced. In order to ensure that everyone with us has a good experience, please feel free to ask what is important to you before your visit. Please contact Claire Diraison, Tel: 040 270 949 19 or Claire.Diraison@Kampnagel.de.
