Raimund Hoghe

In 2012 Raimund Hoghe celebrated his extraordinary role in the German dance and theatre history with the festival »20 Jahre – 20 Tage«. As a dramaturg he was Pina Bausch’s long-time companion through her formative years in the 1970s and 1980s. His pieces are wonderful spaces of longing, with constantly recurring themes such as being different and life as an outsider. A fundamental element of staging human encounters is music. It provokes memories and invites contemplation. In CANTATAS Hoghe creates poetic connections between his nine-piece ensemble and the space between dance, music and soprano Kerstin Pohle’s live songs, as well as between the different compositions and the stories that they tell.
