In the face of a global crisis, it is a matter of global cooperation. Yet this time the crisis is being fought out locally – in the name of the world: at a conference where the invited experts do not appear physically, but are represented by local people. In THE CONFERENCE OF THE ABSENT, the audience observes people from their own city taking on the identity of a conference guest. With all the scenic means of theater, contributions and contradictory theses on the consequences of globalization are conveyed into the theater space – and played out there.
