Six Roma women in elegant dark blouses and dresses stand offset behind and in front of each other in a tiled courtyard passageway. They look at the camera with a serious expression. They are brightly lit by the sun, with a green tree in the background.

For the opening of the KRASS Festival, the Rom*nja in Power theater collective tells the story of the two Sintizas Rita Prigmore and her twin sister Rolanda. In the 1940s, Nazi doctors performed experiments on the twins. The play is a reckoning with the past, but also a glimpse into a possible future and manages not to reduce the narratives about Rom*nja and Sinti*zzi to suffering, persecution and oppression.
