For his new piece, KIRINA, choreographer Serge Aimé Coulibaly – working with internationally renowned, Mali-born musician Rokia Traoré – follows the footsteps of a people looking for its future. Touched by the streams of global migration, Coulibaly, who is making his third guest appearance at Kampnagel, explores the challenges of our time, with reference to Senegalese thinker Felwine Sarr. Coulibaly’s unconventional and powerfully elegant movement vocabulary makes him one of the most important voices in West African dance.
